Representative of Ottoman Cuisine, Feridun Ügümü, honored with the Gault&Millau Türkiye 2024 Honorary Award

At the Gault&Millau Turkey 2024 Awards Ceremony, Feridun Ügümü, owner of Hünkar Lokantası, was honored with the ‘Honorary Award’ for its 74-year-old rooted history and contributions to traditional Ottoman cuisine. Hünkar Lokantası also received a rating of Gourmand Table 1 Toque in the Traditional Cuisine category.

Feridun Ügümü grew up in Hünkar Lokantası, opened by his father in Fatih in 1950. Ügümü, who has been involved in the kitchen from a young age, developed himself with the knowledge he gained from his father and masters. Hünkar Lokantası, which moved to Nişantaşı in 2000, continues to present Ottoman cuisine with modern touches under the leadership of Feridun Ügümü and his successors. Under the leadership of the fourth-generation chef Ufuk Ügümü, it welcomes guests with a renewed atmosphere and a more modern touch.
